Abstract
Troponin elevation is known to be predicted by diabetes and coronary artery disease. This study aimed to determine the level of troponin in diabetic patients, and its relationship with age and duration of diabetes. The results showed that the increasing troponin level compared to the control group (healthy group) as 85.71, 128.57, 228.57, and 600% for groups of 55-60, 61-65, 66-70 and 71-75 years, respectively. This results show that the troponin of diabetic patients increases with the longer period of diabetes and the age of the patient due to the negative effects of diabetes on the heart and blood vessels.
